HIDDENcos Latte Mask Review - A mask that makes you hungry

20 January 2018

Heyy kawans! I'm back again with another face mask review! This time it's an interesting one from the Korean beauty brand HIDDENcos. A quick fyi, HIDDENcos carries two types of "coffee facial sheet masks" -  namely Latte and Americano. Both masks retails on Althea for RM5 each or RM40 for a box of 10 sheets.

For today I will only be reviewing their latte mask as at the time I was making my much needed Althea purchase(I ran out of cleanser sigh) the Americano mask was sold out :( Once I get my hands on it, I'll write a separate review and link it below!

Without any further ado here is HIDDENcos' Latte Revital Amplue Mask. Coffee lovers, rejoice! Not only you can drink coffee and scrub your skin with it, you can now kickback and relax with a coffee facial mask too. hahaha. Plus, the packaging is a takeaway coffee cup, quite cute leh. By the way, if anyone knows what 'amplue' is and whether or not if it's the same as 'ampoule' do let me know in the comments section below. Thank you

What's inside + it's claims:
This Latte Mask's key ingredients are premium Arabica coffee extract from Columbia that claims to provide rich moisture + nutrients for your skin, Adenosine extract as an anti-wrinkles agent, Niacinamide that is used for skin whitening/brightening, and patented Phyto Oligo that will also provide moisture to protect and maintain smooth and perfect skin.

Full ingredients list:
Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Niacinamide, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Canola Oil, Olea Europaea(Olive) Fruit Oil, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Methyl Gluceth-20, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimenthyl Silane, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Carbomer, Arginine, Xanthan Gum, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Ceramide NP, Squalane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Adenosine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Caramel, Caffeine, Propanediol, Caprythydroxamic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Fragrance

The colour of the mask looks like latte. But what caught my interest was the scent. At first I was expecting it to smell like coffee but instead it smells a little sweet...more like mocha? oreo mc flurry?? I couldn't tell exactly what it smells like but it's definitely a familiar pleasant and yummy scent. Also, because it smells sooooooo good and delicious (笑) I'm gonna re-purchase it just so my face can smell like a sweet coffee-chocolate-y goodness again.

How I used the mask?
1. Wash my face with cleanser
2. Apply toner
3. Apply Latte mask
4. Chill for 20 minutes (instruction says 20-30minutes)
5. Feel super hungry for the entire 20 minutes
6. Remove mask, pat the remaining essence on the face and wait for it to semi-dry
7. Follow with the rest of my skincare routine.

Final verdict:
In terms of wrinkle reduction, I don't see any difference partly also cause in the first place I don't have many visible wrinkles. (I think??) For skin brightening I don't see any difference either. Though do take note that this is based on a 'one time use result' so I can't judge on how the results would be on a long term use. Plus such results even for high end skincare it usually takes a month or two to actually see results. As for it's claims on the moisturizing part, I do give it a pass as my skin felt much softer after using this mask for 20 minutes + it left a nice healthy glow on my face too. In terms of 'sticky feeling' on the skin after using the mask, this mask only has a very very mild sticky feeling to it. Compared to most moisturizing masks that leaves a sticky feeling on the skin, the sticky feeling from this latte mask was actually very bearable for me  :)

So far the only thing I can say is that the scent is heavenly. For coffee lovers/sweet tooth owners like me I'd 100% recommend this for fun. But hor, if you're looking for a legit "immediate results after one time use" sort of mask, I believe there are better ones out in the market.

Mini ratings:
packaging: 6/10
instant brightening: 0/10
instant wrinkle reduction: 0/10
moisturizing: 8.5/10
scent: 1000/10

If you're interested in getting one for yourself or your coffee addict bestie, I got mine from althea korea for RM5. Quick tip, if you die die cannot reach RM99 for free shipping like me, get your friends to join order with you haha. Normally each time I shop on Althea I'll jio one kawan or two just so we can all hit free shipping.
