Last week I attended the Butterfly Project's 4th birthday party at Hello Deer, Uptown Damansara. The party was a nice reunion for most butterflies and everyone got to walk home with a set of lovely goodies from Jerlynn'L, a brand filled with love. Details on the party will be up on another blog post soon, for now let's take a moment to see what I think about Jerlynn'L.

The goodies we were given are packaged nicely in this box. (When I first entered the party space and saw these boxes on every seat I was already internally calming down my excitement haha)
We already did a live unboxing during the party but because I didn't manage to save the instastory, here's another round of unboxing.
Inspired by a male Chidori bird that would give his life to raise his family and protect them from predators, the brand was created by a father whom wished to protect and provide daily care products for his dear children. In which he realized that the best way to do so was by creating quality, customized child-safe, and paraben free products.
The brand Jerlynn'L is created as a safe heaven for families, soft enough for babies and rich enough for adults. The main ingredients used in their products are plants and herbs extract which provides a physical and mental calming feeling. On the other hand, fruits and vegetables are used for a refreshing sensation. Fortified with Ceramide III, the fruits and veges also help in long-term moisturizing and protecting the skin from harmful external irritation. It also plays a huge role in water retention of skin cells.
In order to bring out the fragrance, the brand uses the highest grade essential oils, ensuring that the products are safe for children's delicate skin. Jerlynn'L has also released a Signature Collection (yellow bottle packaging) and I'll be reviewing a few of those products below. Products from their Signature Collection contains 4x more Ceramide III than any other products in the market. This helps to retain moisture in the skin while improving the skin's elasticity. Now that we know more about Jerlynn'L, lets take a look at the products I received.
Jerlynn'L Bug No More 180 mins Herbs Extract 100ml - RM49.00
The first product I'll be talking about is actually their top selling product and it's suitable for babies too! This is the Bug No More spray. It contains natural extract from Citronella, Spearmint, Basil, Lavender, and Rosemary to help prevent bug / insect bites. The product also contains Allantoin which acts as anti-irritant agents, smoothen the skin and promote wound healing.
Ingredients: Water, Trehalose, Cymbopogon Nardus (Citronella) Oil, Allantoin, Panthenol, Aloe Barbadensis Viridis (Spearmint) Extract, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract
Personally as someone whom absolutely hate strong scented and sticky mosquito repellents, I was glad to know that this was the exact opposite. As someone whom hated mosquito repellents and would rather be bitten by mosquitoes all over than apply any repellents, I forced myself to give this a try and I surprisingly enjoyed using this. Last week my family decided to take a stroll at Kiara Hills, and that's when I've decided to put this product to test. It was not sticky and the citronella scent wasn't too strong either. At first I thought that it'll be too mild but surprisingly it worked perfectly. My sister whom applied nothing came home with a mosquito bite or two while I had none *cheers*
Face Moisture Soothing Cream 50ml - RM119.00
This product is a face moisturizer suitable for kids age 3+ It is a water-based lotion that will help improve the skin's elasticity as well as reduce redness and aid irritation.
The product remains sterile during use thanks to the specific packaging.
Ingredients: Anthemis Nobilis Flower Water, Aqua, Oenothera biennis (evening primerose) oil, Ceramide 3, Gycerin, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil, Corallina officinalis extract, Salvia Triloba Leaf (sage) Extract
This product does feel moisturizing but also leaves a hint of stickiness. It has a very earthy scent to it as well and I think that this scent is a hit or miss for most of us. Personally I'm not too big of a fan of the scent but in terms of soothing feel, it really does as it claims as my skin does feel slightly cooling after using it.
Jerlynn'L Daily Moisture Lotion 100ml - RM49.00
This product contains natural plants and herbs extract with essential ceramides that soothes and help protect a child's delicate skin. It will keep your child's skin soft, smooth and moisturized.

I don't usually use any body lotion but I've been using this pretty frequent as I like the mild scent of the herbs it gives. Plus it helps moisturize my skin without leaving any sticky feel to it! :D

Jerlynn'L Body Wash Plants & Herbs Extract 500ml - RM119.00
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Panthenol, Sapindus Mukurossi Fruit Extract, Honey Extract, Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) Extract, Chamomile Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract
The body wash has a very mild herb/citrus scent to it. I don't have much opinions on this product but I really enjoy the nice citrus scent it carries. It's a mild shower wash so I feel that it doesn't strip off my skin's pH levels.
Jerlynn'L Hair Wash Scalp Care
Ingredients: Water, Ammonium Lauryl Sulphate, Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Polyquaternium-7, Palmkernelamide, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Panthenol, Menthol, DMDM Hydantoin, Niacinamide, Polyquaternium-10, Salicylic Acid, EDTA.
Similar to the body wash, the hair wash is pretty mild however I noticed that even though my scalp was pretty oily that day + post exposure to rain T.T, it managed to produce some bubbly foam too. Most shampoo I use would require much more product in order to produce bubbles if my scalp was very oily. (I like foamy hair washes ok haha) Another thing I like about this hair wash is the slight cooling sensation it gives the scalp because of its menthol properties. Though personally I think I'll need a stronger shampoo for my scalp. This would be more suitable for those with normal-dry hair.
Hair Conditioner & Detangler 100ml - RM79.00
Ingredients: Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Arginine, Carhtamus Yellow, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Water, Glycerin, Panthenol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Niacinamide, Raffinose, Ceramide 3, Phytosphingosine, Cholesterol, Glycosyl Trehalose, Triethanolamine, Phenonip, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract
Apply then rinse, this hair conditioner claims to provide a soft and smooth finish. It will leave your hair residue free and tangle free locks that are easy to comb through.
Tried and tested, this is really as it claims. This is two pumps and I'm not sure how many pumps am I advised to use but generally I go for 5 pumps with this product. At first when applying onto my hair, this conditioner felt pretty mild, it didn't feel too oily like most conditioners in the market. Though after rinse and dry, my usual easily tangled hair was actually easy to comb :O Lesson of this story is to never judge a book by it's cover, always judge a product by it's results!
Ice Cream Freshener - RM19.00
At first I had no idea why it was called Ice Cream Freshener, because when I got it, this clearly looked more like a dumpling LOL. That was when I itchy hand untied the strings, I see a scoop of ice cream like ball inside haha! I'm not sure which flavour is my freshener but I really love the scent to it! It has a fruity tea scent to it but I just really can't describe what it is or confirm if it was the Black Plum Tea ahaha. The freshener's scent is pretty long lasting too! The party was a week ago and the scent still smells the same! I think this freshener's great for hanging in your wardrobe, that way you can keep your clothes smelling fresh :)
Overall opinions:
Overall I think some products are definitely a hit and some are misses. Products that I'll personally recommend getting would be the Bug No More spray (RM49) as well as the Hair Conditioner & Detangler (RM79). Although I understand that the hair conditioner is pretty pricey for such a small bottle, I personally think that it's something that works on my hair. (and we all know how bad my split ends are sigh) This brand is a one brand fits all and is suitable for all age groups so with this families won't have to worry about buying 123455670 personal care products for everyone in the family right! Plus the way I look at things is if this product is safe for a child, it's definitely better for my skin as well as an adult.
