Semester 2 - what went on

12 December 2015

College is tough. I don't get how people are capable of taking time out for college, sleep, family, friends, personal entertainment AND have the time to blog. Perhaps it's my time management issues but the stress is real. Thankfully, sem 2 is officially over and I'm just gonna pray hard that I pass the semester. To be honest, it's weird how every end of a semester makes me feel as if a year has passed? But I guess its due to the amount of constant work that when you're finally able to take a break, it feels like year end hols.(ok, I guess it really is year end hols now but you get the drill.) I meant to blog about semester 2 when it kinda first started but it just got busier and busier that I really didn't have the time to do so.

Semester 2 had a fair share of ups and downs in various imaginable situations so I've decided to write a post as a self reminder on the events that happened throughout the semester!

To start, I guess I should talk about the most healthy activity I was involved in, which really wasn't all that healthy, but hey, for someone as lazy as me to even get up at 4:30 in the morning for a jogging walking event already sounds like a new unlocked achievement! Free coffee and milo at the end of the jog-a-thon was a bliss though.

Meeting up with the main babe to catch up will definitely be one of my favorite pastimes. And of course 1 Utama is like our most convenient hang out spot (paiseh useless person here can't drive so ya). Instead of the usual starbucks we went for Libary Coffee Bar instead. The drinks were alright, a little too sweet for my liking but the lava cake was a serious let down. It was depressing to cut open a lava cake and not have chocolate flowing out of it, trust me, I stabbed the cake like 3 times then even cut it into half and it still looked depressing.

Review aside, do you know how rare it is for me to be able to find someone that could just chill and hold conversations with someone like me for hours and hours non-stop? Especially when the weird side of me just threatens to break free??? Which is why I think its nice that there's someone out there that's capable of fully tolerating this madness in me. Sooooooooooooooo missing the days I get to see you every single day at school, or mc d, cause like yknow, our attendance were horrible.

I don't even get how I can tahan going to college when I have no class, like, my attendance was THAT bad in high school.

My motto is ridiculously 24/7 hungry. Which I think I should consider transfering that motto to Jas lol. Anyways Strangers At 47 is located at section 17. I've been wanting to give this place a go for quite some time after hearing so much hype on it. Definitely no regrets having lunch there with kor, jasbaeb, ash and jojo. The dish I ordered was 'Lethal Shrooms' and as the name has already suggested, it's a mushyroomy piece of heaven tucked underneath a blanket of crepe.

This marks the day I've checked off one of my long time bucket list goals - Getting my hair pampered and dyed at Number 76 :') ---and also getting it dyed purple. Purple was the colour I wanted to dye last year right after my econs paper but the saloon I went to was an organic one which doesn't offer purple hair dye. Even though I couldn't get the purple hair I wanted then, I still liked how my brown with highlights turned out. With the addition of how slow my hair grows, I was able to keep my hair untouched for months until I got it dyed to purple at Number 76. I suppose plus minus 9 months? I'm not sure if I would write up a separate more detailed post on my hair dye experience at 76 but just check around on and off to see aight? I know how MIA I am when it comes to maintaining my blog but I'll try to post as much as possible before sem 3 starts knocking at my doorstep.

TRY.

The saddest part was probably how fast the colour faded, like it disappeared after a week or two. On the side note, seeing how my purple hair was long faded and how extremely late I'm blogging about it, my hair is already a different colour now. Just this afternoon my faded to brown purple ends have been replaced by purple and green along with some grey. Its like boyfriend goals to have your boy dye your hair for you. I'll post up pictures some time later I guess.

I love birthdays. The thing with me though is that I have some sort of surprise-reaction issues. I have like some serious face problem issue that makes me look as if I wasn't enjoying myself. Honestly I love surprises but when I do get em' I literally need a minute or two to perfectly grasp my senses back. I'm the kind that would just blank out on the spot and have no idea whats going on. But really, thank you so much 1/2 syair and mami and sissy and bby for being such amazing actors. T_T <3 I honestly thought there was no dinner when I got home after the insane 6PM monday jaya one jam ;_; The early birthday celebration after class was really nice, and I got my mille crepe birthday cake-cake goals :') Helium was fun, Soap & Glory smells amazing, furry baa baa white sheep card is cute, room deco was on point, my 18 balloons are still alive after 3 months, pink powerbank is a lifesaver and photos with many many words on it were nice to read, two pikachus will keep me charged up.

And of course the boyfie would pakat with your mami again to scare you on your birthday-day itself. Ever since being half-scared to death from opening my room door twice on the same week, every time I open my room door I have to mentally prepare myself for any surprises -_- I know how many girls now would be like 'screw flowers, just get me like chicken nuggets or fries' but I still have like that little ounce of old fashion in me that wanted to at least receive flowers once??? Tenks for the flowers and the UD palette, <3 I know how hard you've worked over the weekends to get em for me T v T and tenks Jing, cause, yknow why ;) <3

103 Coffee Workshop - I will never forget spending a public holiday having a consultation session. Things you do for your cgpa, really. Still, I am really thankful and shocked that our tutor would spare his holiday to have a consultation session to save our grades. :') The rose latte there is really interesting and you can really taste the faint rose aroma in it. I was a little let down by how long we had to wait for the bill though. In my opinion, the food there wasn't all that great but one definitely have to give their rose latte a try! Finding the location might be a little troublesome for people staying in PJ that has never stepped foot into Sri Petaling though haha. But just Waze it there and you'll be fine! Parking was pretty easy too as opposite of the row of shop lots the cafe was situated at was a covered carpark! :)

I meant to make a butterfly knife but I don't have the time or know how to??? So I took the liberty to make a very...cute..karambit instead. I know how kinda cacat (handicapped, or in this case, bad) it looks but I'm actually pretty proud of this piece. Mainly because I'm horrible in cutting. It would've saved so much more work if I used mounting boards for this instead but for my hands, even if I'm given a really good expensively sharp blade, cutting mounting boards are like a big nono for me, especially when it involves so many curves. So instead I opted to cut a dozen+ layers of 120g/m^2 drawing papers and a dozen more card papers to make it solid :')

Cheers to my bbq gang :') I've found a new love for taiwan sausages and these will forever be the crew that knows about my unconditional love for seafood tofu <3 Even though I can't go for bbq often because my throat is just plain weak, I'll still make exceptions for them because bbq-ing with them is a bliss - v - I mean, it's not an everyday thing to have your friends bbq food then feed you :>

Finally got the chance to attend a halloween party (?)
Well it was fun to play dress up for a night - v -

Now let's have a short educational stress management talk. Handling stress wasn't tough for me, nor was it easy. Crying over lack of sleep, crying over the fear of not being able to pass your own expectations, crying over not being good enough, crying over being lost, crying over the fact that you have no idea why you're crying, is horrible. It's tiring, it's hopeless, and sometimes you really just don't know why you do it. Perspective is key. I have two moods when I'm rushing my assignments. I don't draw well, I can't put my thoughts into visuals, it's tough for me, I'm not illustrator/artist material, nope, lol. I try though, I try hard and I try to live too. I'll make time for everyone important in my life even if it costs me my sleep, I'll just get my work done. So really, perspective is key. Look and analyze your life from another point of view, push your regrets aside and just constantly remind yourself that you can do it, relax but don't over-relax yourself! :>

Perhaps spending your childhood camping in front of a graphics forum had its pros and cons. For instances, I don't stress over designing as much as I would've stressed over if given that I had 0 experience or knowledge on it. I probably wouldn't even be in a multimedia course if given I never stepped foot into that graphics forum since I was 9. So having seen so much since such a young age, there are some online graphic designers' work that I've looked up to for a really long time, having produce work that isn't on par with a certain standard literally pisses me off lol. Stress and feels and own its own solitary post, move on.

Did vector illustration for my final art & design fundamentals assignment, the process of sticking the book together had me crying so many times but I guess it was worth it la, The number of book covers I have in the end marks the amount of times I've either printed something wrongly or cut something wrongly :') I've reprinted the same file so many times on so many types of papers to the point where the guy working at the printing shop really hates me already lol. So there you have it, plus minus 100RM ft. berber. (she's only about a month old ok, the original berber had left me years ago ;') )

To celebrate the kinda-end of the semester, me and Yhang went for Sungha Jung's live at PJ Live Arts. To cut short, the live was amazing. I have a soft spot for anything guitar related so you can pretty much tell how happy I was to go for a pure guitar live. Also, I love love love lives, I would believe that I'm someone that could attend any music live and still enjoy myself. Our seat was all the way at the back, center la and our view was pretty sweet. :> The hall wasn't as big as I imagined so it was perfect! And did I mention the sound system was pretty good?

I saved the best for last. Happy very belated Yan, sot gai :3 Full syair squad is a very very rare sight ok. I will never forget my very long dilemma over two different set meals and how Publika's playground is meant for kids below the age of 10. :') Love yu girls :3

Shogun2U - Food delivery service review

28 August 2015

Are you lazy? Do you constantly crave for outside food? Do you /not/ have a license? yes, the struggles  then you must be someone like me that contributes to the food delivery industry from time to time. The other day I woke up to a text my mom sent telling me about Shogun2u.com. She told me that Shogun2u is currently running a 50% off Merdeka promotion on all their mains. In which after doing the maths, it seems quite worthy to give it a go. (I'm ordering for 3pax) Moreover, there was nothing to eat but maggi, so why not?

How To Order?
1. You start by heading over to their website http://www.shogun2u.com/
2. Select your 'City' then 'Area'. Click order.
3. Select the food you want. They have a variety of mains, side orders, beverages & desserts to choose from. They even have combo deals in their menu. A great deal for larger groups.
4. After selecting, click order and they'll prompt you to either register an acc or order as guest.
5. If you've selected order as guest, just fill in the delivery & payment details and you're done. I registered an account with them though (free delivery even if you don't hit RM50, so why not, I'll explain more below)

Rating on the scale of 10 tamago mentai:
Taste: 8
Price justifying the meal portion & taste: 9.5
Packaging: 10
Efficiency of delivery: 4
Customer service: 9

Food came in a plastic container as well as the utensils. I really like their sauce containers though, they're just so cute and basically its something new (or i'm outdated idk). Really appreciated them separating the teriyaki sauce from the chicken haha.

I ordered a Teriyaki Chicken bento (RM16.90 ori. price). Overall the food tasted pretty good. I'm picky with my food but considering the price we paid, it definitely justified it well. The salad dressing given was thousand island. Personally I was quite let down because I imagined the set to come with slaw (y'know the typical cabbage etc) but this combination of mixed veggies were fine as well I guess. (and cause I love thousand island) Not a fan of the pickles though. Chicken was good.

What I really like from Shogun2U would be their live chat feature in their website. Back then I was shy to the point where I can barely make a phone call to a stranger. So for shy people that can't even bring themselves to call up a delivery service to ask for inquiries or to follow up their order, this feature works brilliantly. Plus, it saves your phone bill and for instances if your phone is far from you, you're in front of your PC AND your butt is stuck on the chair.......yeah. you get the drill.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

My order was approximately an hour or two late. Not all that happy with that so I tried the chat feature which I got a reply within a minute or two. Basically this lovely lady (im sorry I forgot her name) helped me check my order and my order was delivered in about 20 mins time.

I'd say I'm pretty disappointed by their time punctuality. But the delivery rider & customer service was pretty friendly so ok la. (and I wasn't THAT hungry that day haha)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Now the more mathematical section. This will be able to properly show you guys how I was able to justify the price of this meal.

Shogun2U charges a delivery fee of RM4 if your order is below 50. Registered users get to enjoy free delivery as long as you hit their minimum order of RM25. :) In addition to that, you'll be able to use promo codes as well.

Currently their merdeka 50% off all mains promo code is still on til the 31st of August:
Just key in ' Merdeka50 ' at the check out page.

Another promo code ' ALL40 ' is also available for use til 16th September. This code works for everything in their menu!

So as I mentioned earlier. I ordered 3 Teriyaki Chicken originally for RM50.7, free delivery. After applying the Merdeka promo code my total bill was RM25.35. If you average out to 3, I was only paying RM8.45 /set. For japanese food & its a food delivery, this was definitely a steal! Don't miss the offer! At least take the opportunity of the promo to try something new. :)

ps. excuse the horrible quality, my butt was stuck on the couch and my camera was way too far.

Sem break- Trying out new and forgotten products

12 August 2015

It's been a while since I've blogged, very long while in fact. College was busy, as usual, assignments and presentations. Though I must say, courtesy of a friend from creative thinking class, I think I'm slowly overcoming my fear towards presentations. My closer friends in college will know how bad my fear towards presentations were. I still remember whenever a lecturer says xxxxxx assignment will have a presentation for it, I tend to go into my 'oh-god-why-no-i-hate-presentations-i-need-ice-cream' mode. Oh well, no matter how much I've overreact for presentations in the past, learning to overcome this certainly felt great.

don't get me wrong though, I still dislike presentations :')

but my presentation skills lecturer is win.

The other day, after spending a great day with my bby from skipping jogging and having fancy breakfast to testing out all the most expensive colognes and perfumes in Sephora then having a very very tummy filling meal of steamboat, I felt a little adventurous after I got home and picked out a few new and old products to play around. Products that are either totally brand new, or products that I haven't been using lately. (which is probably everything in my cupboard because all I use now is my brown liner, brow pencil, primer, loose powder, concealer and i'm good to go) In fact, it's been months since I've used eye shadow on myself.

When my mom was in the States for business travels, I took the opportunity to browse through the net, do a little research on some of the best drugstore products that aren't available in Malaysia. I have to say, I'm not a fan of Maybelline's Great Lash mascara though I'm definitely loving the colour of this NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. I'd like to describe it as the perfect barbie pink lip colour I've been hunting for so long now. :')

Ever since I've started college, I haven't played around with my makeup so much. I tend to just keep it simple. I even remember telling myself that I'll wake up earlier and go to college all glam and style everyday. Well, let's just say sleep > image & comfortable > image. So without having much thoughts, I've decided to play around with my BH Cosmetics Take me to Brazil palette.

What I have on here would be shades of orange in the crease, cyan on the lower lash line, white on the inner eye corner and purple on my lids. For the liner, I was using a black liquid liner I got from Daiso previously. For 5 bucks, I guess it justified its price very well. Definitely gotta repurchase my K-Palette one though.

For the contacts, I'm currently wearing Bausch + Lomb colour cosmetic lenses, Lacelle in Jubilee Violet. Here's a pic of the lens indoor lighting with no flash

Here's a shot with flash.
I'll post up full reviews on the products I've tried as well as the Lacelle lenses soon!

Now what I was really interested in trying was this Miracle Cleansing Water from Biore. I got this for free a couple months back in college and havent used it till today. Before trying it out for myself, I've already seen beauty bloggers and youtubers raving about how amazing this makeup remover is and I have to say, I am indeed impressed. I might actually stop using makeup wipes and switch to this instead as it's so much more effective in removing makeup. I didn't get to try it out when I was removing my usual makeup but just to see the results of this. I purposely had on foundation as well as mascara. Let's just say this makeup remover is damn good la ok.

now if only they gave like 5 of these in a pack hahaha :')

To sum up my post, let me welcome you my first ever bed plushie, Shy Shy. Tenks bby <3 love you :')

Treasure sleep

11 June 2015

Remember the days in primary when you'd constantly boast about sleeping late? I remember back then sleeping past 1 in the morning was a cool thing. Not in college. At least, not in my book. I'm constantly craving for the days I get to sleep at 10 now. This is when you're constantly having 2AM, 3AM and 5AM nights. Sleeping at 10 is the real cool.

Ever since stepping into college, I've slowly understood why my friends that went into January intake socialized with me lesser now. You either deal with several 5AM nights a week(only when there's like 5 assignments due on the same week) or you lose your social life. Because trust me, I ain't risking that cgpa of mine (then again I'm so bad in presentations I've probably dragged my cgpa down already la). I'll get my work done even if it means getting 0 sleep.

Come to think of it, I guess it's really just my time management issues. I admit, procrastination suck. Why do we even procrastinate anyways. I could be lazing in bed for two whole hours on the day before the assignment submission dateline counting the amount of assignments backlog. This usually follows with me crying at the amount displayed on my fingers then just simply rolling in bed, self reflecting then getting back up and go into my "deal with it, you gotta finish this" mode. yup. life. heh. Me being someone really slow also adds as a disadvantage sigh. But I guess most of the nights when I'm literally dying with assignments I'm always blessed with food and digital guitar lives. 2AM food deliveries are win. heshteggoverblessedfatlifepls

This week seemed more peaceful. Other than the news that I have two presentations coming up (oh the horror) and me working on a couple new assignments that I feel utter hopeless in, I guess it's a pretty decent week. I mean, I had quality bonding time with my bestie over mille crepes, that's pretty rare y'know. After all, the last two weeks really ain't my week. Assignments and homework flooded to the point where I had to go for a facial, tell me how bad is that. Can't wait for tomorrow. Insidious and ice cream's gonna be good. :3

Photography class is win cause Ley korkor takes good shots of my hair hahahahahaha

Nutty Coco - Coconut ice cream @ IPC (Ikano Power Centre)

5 May 2015

The other day me and my mom had some errands to run at IPC. As Malaysians, it's in our blood to be 24/7 waisek (24/7 tempted by food).  then again, it's probably just me. Anyways, we came across a new store at IPC selling coconut ice cream and we thought, why not?

It so happened that we came across their store during their grand opening weekend so we got to enjoy a buy one free one promotion that was going on til 30th of April. We settled for The Signature & Crispy Cheesy.

Crispy Cheesy.
The coconut ice cream was served on top of a bed of coconut flesh topped with two pieces of cheesy chips, chocolate rice sprinkles and peanuts.

The Signature.
Now this, is gold. duh, it's their signature what. Like Crispy Cheesy, The Signature also had coconut ice cream on top of a bed of coconut flesh served in a coconut shell but instead, topped with sweetcorn and roasted groundnuts. Would definitely recommend trying this. I personally liked this better than Crispy Cheese!

Coconuts are naturally cooling and refreshing, turning it into ice cream? I initially had doubts because I'm personally not a huge fan of coconuts, but surprisingly, it tasted really good. Definitely going back for more.

30 April 2015

entering college, new life, new blog.
jokes.
I had to switch back to blogger because I calculated the cost and figured that I don't wanna self-host my blog anymore. haha,

pic creds to Jas baeb // & Ryan's cam is dope

Well that aside, yup, I survived the first week of college and so far so good I guess. I've always been more of an introvert in the past, having feared to make the first move and all but I guess walking up to a total stranger and placing your hand out, then proceeding to introduce yourself ain't thaaaaaaat tough.

Despite it being just the second week of class, the amount of work you get in college is already starting to scare me. I mean, I already have like 1 presentation and 3 assignments pending. Then there's also the need in me to balance out my social life too! Let's just say late nights & waking up early then putting on contacts is a big nono in my book. So how? hobo to class every day with specs la. Even my makeup game died completely. :( I initially wanted to look less like a decaying zombie for college okkk... but I guess scrap that, pandas are pretty much well loved too, no?

Assignments and presentations aside (trust me, presentations scare me to no end. Just cause I've somewhat been able to approach people to make friends now, I still blank out and my brain just decides to malfunction the minute I get in front of the class.) I'm having a pretty good time. My breakfast buddies are entertaining, lunch breaks are pretty ok, met really nice and cool new friends that double as your ranting buddy & inside jokes buddies.

I checked the back up I did on my old blog, my last blog post was way back in January...I think? Seeing how long I've been away from blogging, there's so much to talk about, but I guess I'll leave those for another time...or...never haha. I do have more makeup reviews & food reviews coming up soon!

So hit the subscribe button!

and...

To better days in college!
